John Moran is a fisheries research biologist at the Auke Bay Laboratories in Juneau, Alaska. He has lived and worked in Alaska and the Canadian Arctic for over 25 years with a wide variety of species ranging from zooplankton to whales. For the last 14 years, his focus has been on humpback whales and their prey in Prince William Sound and Southeast Alaska. John completed his undergraduate studies at the University of New Hampshire majoring in zoology with a minor in marine biology. He received his M.S. in Fisheries from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
