Mary Najmi

Mary Najmi is the Deputy Director of the NOAA Fisheries Human Capital Management Office. She oversees strategic workforce planning, executive resources, student programs, and workforce reporting and analytics.

Mary joined the office in 2019, where she initially served as a Workforce Planning Program Manager responsible for the annual staffing, workforce analytics and reporting, and performance data analytics. Mary started her federal career at the U.S. Postal Service in 2010, where she led several national-level HR initiatives, including creating its first national wellness program and implementing the Postal Services' first healthcare plan for temporary employees outside of Federal Employees Health Benefits. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.
