Pacific Hake/Whiting Treaty: U.S. - Canada JMC and AP Meeting 2024
The Joint Management Committee (JMC) and Advisory Panel (AP) created under the Pacific Hake/Whiting Agreement will meet in person and by webinar, February 27 - 29, 2024
About
The Joint Management Committee (JMC) and Advisory Panel (AP) created under the Pacific Hake/Whiting Agreement between the Governments of the United States and Canada will meet in person and by webinar February 27 - 29, 2024. The meeting is open to the public and there will be opportunity for public comment.
The JMC will meet to review the advice by the Joint Technical Committee (JTC), Scientific Review Group (SRG), and AP; review updates of the Management Strategy Evaluation (MSE); and recommend the 2024 total allowable catch (TAC) for the United States and Canada, including each party's individual TAC and identifying adjustments as needed.
The AP will meet to review the advice of the JTC and SRG, review management of the U.S. and Canada fisheries in 2023, and make recommendations to the JMC regarding the overall TAC for the 2024 fishing season.
