Turtle Excluder Device Outreach and Courtesy Inspection Schedule
NOAA Fisheries’ Gear Monitoring Team to host an outreach event and courtesy TED inspections, spring 2023.
About
NOAA Fisheries’ Gear Monitoring Team is hosting Turtle Excluder Device outreach in support of the commercial Gulf of Mexico shrimp fishery. The team will be conducting courtesy TED inspections this March and April in coastal Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
During the outreach events we will answer questions and provide you the opportunity to have your TEDs inspected by the team to ensure your gear is compliant and ready to be fished. We look forward to meeting you. You can contact us at the numbers or email address below for more information on when and where the team will be. This outreach is part of the Deepwater Horizon Sea Turtle Early Restoration Project.

Courtesy Inspection Schedule Details
The team will be visiting areas where shrimp boats are docked to try to reach fishermen who are interested in a courtesy TED inspection to ensure their gear is properly installed. If you plan to attend the TED outreach and/or our courtesy inspection events, please reach out to us in advance so we can schedule a time to meet with you. We intend to help as many fishermen as possible that are interested in our services while we are in your area.
