About
Join Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital for a virtual experience and learn something new about endangered species like white abalone, one of the most endangered species on our planet!

Girl Scouts Endangered Species Patch Program
Want to help save endangered species, too? There's a patch for that! NOAA Fisheries teamed with the Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital organization and other partners to develop a new Endangered Species Act patch. Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador level Girl Scouts from any state can earn this patch. They must complete a five-step process to explore, investigate, create, experience, and present information about plants and animals that are protected under the Endangered Species Act.
Since the creation of the collaboration, more than 1,000 Girl Scouts have earned the patch through participating in our NOAA-Girl Scouts webinars and other activities.
In 2022, Girl Scouts also expanded the program to include elementary aged children, so now Girl Scouts of all ages can earn the Endangered Species patch.
