The Alaska Fisheries Science Center is seeking proposals to
- Support Existing Indigenous Knowledge Networks to build capacity in remote Arctic communities in line with NOAA Fisheries Equity and Environmental Justice Strategy. (e.g., environmental monitoring and knowledge sharing workshops)
- Elevate Indigenous Knowledge in existing science for better understanding of how changing climate conditions affect living marine resources.
- Conduct collaborative and co-produced research with academic, international and Indigenous partners.
The Alaska Fisheries Science Center expects to offer virtual Q&A sessions on March 7 at 9:00 am AKT and March 18 at 12:00 pm AKT to share information and answer questions about this new funding opportunity. These webinars will be recorded and AFSC may hold future webinars as needed.

Application Process
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants are individuals, institutions of higher education, other nonprofits, for-profit organizations, foreign public entities or foreign organizations, and state, local and Indian tribal governments. Federal agencies or instrumentalities are not eligible to receive federal assistance under this notice.
The Department of Commerce/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (DOC/NOAA) is strongly committed to broadening the participation of historically black colleges and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, tribal colleges and universities, and institutions that work in underserved areas.
How to Apply
Applicants should apply through the www.Grants.gov website. A complete standard NOAA financial assistance application package should be submitted in accordance with the guidelines in the Federal Funding Opportunity announcement posted to www.Grants.gov. Each application must include the application forms from the SF-424 form family.
