NOAA posts stakeholder engagement opportunities on Section 216(c) of the Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad.
NOAA recently launched an agency-wide effort to gather public input on section 216(c) of the Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad. The executive order directs NOAA to collect recommendations on how to make fisheries—including aquaculture—and protected resources more resilient to climate change. This includes changes in management and conservation measures and improvements in science, monitoring, and cooperative research. Through April 2, 2021, we invite your input on how best to achieve these objectives via email to OceanResources.Climate@noaa.gov.
We are hosting three national stakeholder calls—two are open to all stakeholders and one is specifically for state and tribal governments. We will continue to gather input throughout 2021, including through discussions with the Regional Fishery Management Councils and the interstate fishery commissions. The list below will be updated as new opportunities for stakeholder input are confirmed.
