Reference Collections For Age Determination Of Select Northwest Atlantic Species

The Fishery Biology Program has photographs of our reference collections (known-age fish) for various species. Currently, there are images available for Atlantic cod, haddock, and American shad.
These collections of otoliths images may be used as a training resource or to measure the accuracy of age estimates. These images are of fish for which the age is reliably known. Both annotated and unannotated images are available.
