Status Review Report for Black Abalone

NMFS formally announced initiation of a black abalone status review on 17 October 2006 (71 FR 61021), and solicited information from the public regarding: life history and current status of the species, historic and current distribution and abundance patterns, potential factors for the species= decline (e.g., overharvesting, natural predation, disease, habitat loss, etc.), and ongoing conservation measures being taken to protect the species.
