Our giant salmon mural has been shrunk down into a black and white line coloring sheet. Inside of the large salmon, there are many intricacies that show how people are degrading and restoring salmon habitat.
This curriculum includes 10 hands-on lesson plans that explore the salmon life cycle; the cultural, environmental, and economic importance of salmon; the major issues facing salmon; and how individuals can get involved to protect these iconic species.
In this lesson students will use the Agents of Discovery™ app on their mobile devices to learn about the wild Atlantic salmon. Students will complete challenge activities within the Sea-Run, Go! Mission which were developed to increase general knowledge of wild Atlantic salmon; promote understanding the species’ conservation and recovery needs; and to encourage environmental stewardship.
This handbook was developed to support the Sea Stewards program. Underserved students, persons with disabilities, and veterans spend a day recreating on the ocean and learning about what it means to be an ethical angler and a marine steward.
