Summary

North Carolina Department of Marine Fisheries has submitted an application and accompanying conservation plan for the incidental take of shortnose sturgeon (Acipenser brevirostrum), Atlantic sturgeon (Acipenser oxyrinchus oxyrinchus), Kemp's ridley (Lepidochelys kempii), leatherback (Dermochelys coriacea), hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata), green (Chelonia mydas) and loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) associated with the otherwise lawful commercial inshore gillnet fishery in North Carolina. The permit will be active for 10 years.
