In this episode of Dive In with NOAA Fisheries, we discuss how NOAA—and NOAA Fisheries—support the seafood sector. The seafood industry is impacted by global forces such as climate change, international trade relations, and growing competition for ocean use—forces which also shape NOAA's priorities.

We hear from Dr. Rick Spinrad, NOAA Administrator and Undersecretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere, and Janet Coit, Assistant Administrator of NOAA Fisheries. They both spoke with us from the Seafood Expo North America in Boston, Massachusetts, a leading trade event for all sectors of the seafood industry.

NOAA Fisheries held several panel discussions at the conference, including a NOAA leadership update where Dr. Spinrad and Ms. Coit gave an update on Administration priorities as they relate to seafood and led a discussion about how the agency is working to support increased production and resilience in the face of numerous challenges.
