Our Location
The station is strategically located on the main stem of the Columbia River in southeastern Washington state, and serves Northwest Fisheries Science Center’s research throughout the entire Columbia River Basin.
What We Do
The Pasco Research Station supports the Northwest Fisheries Science Center’s research on anadromous fish migration, particularly monitoring and development of technologies to improve salmon survival during passage through the Columbia River hydropower system. Pasco Research Station is the only NOAA facility dedicated to the study of safe salmon passage through major hydroelectric dams.
