The Pacific Whiting Treaty is a bilateral agreement between the United States and Canada and responsible for the management of the coastal stock of Pacific whiting. As part of the Agreement, committees and panels conduct meetings to review stock assessments, total allowable catch limits, and other information for the effective and optimal management of Pacific Whiting.

The Joint Management Committee meets to plan for the 2021 Pacific Hake/Whiting Treaty meetings and discuss the ongoing Management Strategy Evaluation.
The JMC determined that, due to extraordinary circumstances, closed session meetings were needed.
The Joint Management Committee meets to review the advice of the Joint Technical Committee, the Scientific Review Group, and the Advisory Panel and recommend the overall total allowable catch (TAC) for 2020. The meeting was scheduled to take place in person but was moved to an online format. In addition, the meeting was extended to include an additional day (March 13).

The Joint Technical Committee (JTC) meets to prepare for the upcoming stock assessment process.

The Joint Management Committee reviews advice from the stock assessment, Joint Technical Committee, Advisory Panel, and Scientific Review Group and then recommends a total allowable catch, or TAC.
