Summary

NOAA Fisheries Office of Protected Resources has issued an LOA and regulations to govern the unintentional take of small numbers of marine mammals incidental to fisheries research conducted by the NOAA Fisheries Southwest Fisheries Science Center (SWFSC) in the California Current Research Area (off the U.S. west coast), the Eastern Tropical Pacific Research Area, and the Antarctic Research Area (in the Antarctic Scotia Sea) over the course of five years from the date of issuance.
